Unifying DIVERSITY


Vigan City became famous when it became one of the 7 wonder cities of the world. Huge amount of tourists visits this place to see its beauty and its history in the past. This heritage city has unique culture and practices in terms of their daily activity.

Recently, it celebrated the solidarity month. Lots of activities and contests are done in order to boost our knowledge and to display its distinct Ilocano culture. The sole purpose of the solidarity month is to unite and remember the past of the Ilocano culture.

Aside from Filipino celebrating solidarity month, foreign nationalities were also celebrated such as Chinese and Indian solidarity celebration. It was done to tie the cultures of different cultures to promote peace and love.

The Chinese Solidarity Celebration was done at the Sikatuna Street of Vigan which is considered to be the Chinatown of Vigan City for there are many Chinese people living there. And the Indian Solidarity is celebrated because of many Indian student studying in the said city.

Moreover, this celebration is conducted every year which aims to promote our culture and to unite the Ilocano people. The majority of the Ilocano cultures are changing because of the changing era and these cultures are needed to be remembered and practice thoroughly so that the next generation will have a taste of this fruit.
